So mid-August Rich and I started our Geocaching adventures. We had read about it a while ago but quite honestly had forgotten about it until end of Summer 2017 (this year). For those who do not know (Geocaching is the recreational activity of hunting for and finding a hidden object by means of GPS coordinates posted on a website) in a sense, it’s like treasure hunting!
Fortunately, we have lots of outdoorsy state parks and natural places nearby to geocache. To date, we have found 18 which I think is pretty good because we’ve only been doing this for about a month.
So it’s nice because we get to visit parks in a whole new light, not just enjoying the scenic views but actually looking for something specific. We’ve already discovered different trails to places that we thought we knew inside and out.
So, you never know what new area’s you’ll find when searching for a geocache. We’ve also found quite a few on the Old Erie Canal Trail in CNY. It’s historic and a beautiful area to hike.
So make sure to really rock the park and get outside and enjoy life!
